About Flash Electrolysis

Since 2011, Flash Electrolysis has been helping clients across San Juan Capistrano and Orange County permanently eliminate unwanted hair — one follicle at a time. Our mission is to provide safe, personalized, and inclusive electrolysis treatments using the only FDA-approved permanent hair removal method.

We welcome women, men, and transgender clients into a respectful, clean, and professional environment where results come first — and every client is treated with dignity.

Our Story & Values

Flash Electrolysis was founded with one goal: to provide a real solution for people frustrated by temporary hair removal methods. We’ve seen firsthand how shaving, waxing, and even laser often fail to deliver long-term results — especially for people with hormonal hair growth, darker skin tones, or light-colored hairs.

That’s why we specialize in true electrolysis — a method pioneered in 1875 that has been safely and effectively used for 150 years and is clinically proven to permanently destroy hair follicles.

Frequently Asked Questions

What causes unwanted hair?

Hormonal changes, genetics, stress, and certain medications can all cause excess hair growth. Conditions like PCOS, adrenal disorders, or thyroid imbalances are also common triggers.

What is electrolysis?

A tiny sterile probe is inserted into the hair follicle, and a small amount of heat or current destroys the follicle’s growth cells. Once treated, that follicle will not produce hair again.

Electrolysis vs. Laser — What’s better?

Electrolysis is the only FDA-approved method for permanent hair removal. Laser only reduces hair and often fails on light, fine, or gray hair. Electrolysis works on all hair and skin types without risk of pigmentation damage.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the area, hair type, and past hair removal methods. Most clients see results in 6–12 months, with full clearance in 12–18 months when staying on schedule.

Is it painful?

Most clients feel only a mild tingling. We adjust settings for comfort and offer tips (like hydration, food, or numbing cream) to minimize discomfort.

Can electrolysis be done anywhere?

Yes — face, body, and even intimate areas. Men, women, and trans clients all benefit from electrolysis in areas traditional methods can't treat safely or permanently.

Pre-Treatment Tips

To prepare for a comfortable and effective session:

Avoid caffeine, sugar, or stimulants before your appointment

Drink plenty of water the day before and day of treatment

Eat a small meal beforehand

Avoid sun exposure 48 hours prior

Consider over-the-counter or prescribed numbing creams like EMLA or LMX

Wear comfortable clothing over the treatment area

We also recommend scheduling treatments around your menstrual cycle, as some clients may feel more sensitive before or during it.

Post-Treatment Care

It’s normal to see mild redness or swelling. Here’s how to care for your skin after treatment:

Keep the area clean with gentle antiseptics like aloe, Neosporin, or vitamin A

Avoid touching the area or picking at scabs

Skip harsh soaps or scrubs for 24–48 hours

Use cold compresses to reduce swelling if needed

Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds

Use fresh, non-comedogenic makeup if needed

Contact us if you experience any unusual skin reactions or concerns after treatment.
